<description>Título: Projeto de automação de uma unidade de suporte à classificação de sementes
Resumo em Língua Estrangeira: This work was carried out in a Seed Processing Unit (UBS), where the manual Big Bag filling process presents safety risks, variations in final weight, low efficiency, and high time consumption. To overcome these limitations, an automated system was implemented using a PLC, level sensors, load cells, and actuators responsible for controlling material flow and cart movement. The solution also integrates interlock and safety routines, ensuring automatic shutdown under abnormal conditions. As a result, the process became more accurate, safer, and standardized, with a significant reduction in operating time, increasing productivity and overall process efficiency.

<description>Título: Projeto para melhoria na identificação da integridade de peças em dispositivo de soldagem
Resumo em Língua Estrangeira: This article presents a study aimed at modernizing the component identification process in welding fixtures, focusing on the replacement and adaptation of sensors to ensure greater reliability, productivity, and quality in the industrial sector. The research was carried out through a literature review, technical analysis, and a case study in an automotive industry facing recurring failures in the part identification process. Different types of sensors are addressed: inductive, capacitive, optical, ultrasonic, photoelectric, and laser and their applications within the context of Industry 4.0 are discussed, highlighting their operating principles and relevance to automation systems. As a result of the implementation of the proposed solution, a significant reduction in the number of maintenance calls was observed after the replacement of sensors and the updating of components in the second half of 2025, even while the system was still in the testing phase. In addition, quality indicators showed a marked decrease in the scrap rate during 2025, associated with a reduction in rejected parts. These results reinforce that replacing inductive sensors with laser sensors directly contributes to greater process stability, fewer unplanned stoppages, increased equipment availability, and improved traceability, aligning the system with Industry 4.0 practices and requirements.

<description>Título: Aplicação de sensores na manutenção preditiva: desafios e benefícios em empresas de usinagem de Panambi
Resumo em Língua Estrangeira: This study analyzes the application of sensor technologies in predictive maintenance within companies in the metal machining sector in Panambi, focusing on the types of sensors used, practical challenges, and observed benefits in operational efficiency. The research combines a literature review on sensors and predictive maintenance with a qualitative case study, including interviews and meetings with managers from machining companies (Kepler Weber and Bruning Tecnometal) and sensor suppliers (Acoem and Dynamox). The results reveal that despite the specific challenges of the machining environment, such as rotation variations and interference, the implementation of vibration and temperature sensors provides significant benefits, including reduced unplanned downtime and protection of critical equipment. The case study of Kepler Weber demonstrates a significant cost avoidance, equivalent to approximately 1,174% of the invested amount, highlighting the effectiveness of predictive maintenance based on sensors. The time to achieve this saving was 180 days, which demonstrates the rapid recovery of the investment and the financial benefits resulting from the reduction of unplanned downtime, repairs, and equipment damage. A comparative analysis of sensors available on the market (Tractian Smart Trac Ultra, WEG WEGscan 100, Acoem Eagle, and Dynamox DynaLogger HF+) provides guidance for appropriate selection according to the specific needs of each industry. It is concluded that, despite the initial implementation challenges, predictive maintenance with sensors represents a necessary evolution for machining companies seeking greater competitiveness through reduced operational costs and increased equipment availability.

<description>Título: Retrofit de máquina de rebitagem manual: integração de automação para a otimização de processos
Resumo em Língua Estrangeira: Maintaining product quality is crucial to ensuring market competitiveness. To achieve this, it is necessary to have automated machines and a qualified team to efficiently meet production demands. One solution to avoid the high cost of purchasing new equipment is machine retrofitting, which consists of technologically updating and restoring original production capacity, including the implementation of automation systems and safety improvements. This process significantly reduces the chance of unexpected failures, increasing machine reliability and availability. This work aims to demonstrate the planning, development, implementation, testing, validation and training of a retrofit project on a machine in a metallurgical industry. The decision was made based on cost savings compared to purchasing new equipment, while ensuring greater automation, safety and efficiency in production processes, guaranteeing manufacturing continuity and quality.
